Bvlgari x Cultured Magazine Private Dinner

There are some evenings that feel bigger than the work itself.

This was one of them.

Bvlgari and Cultured Magazine hosted a private dinner at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, celebrating jewelry designed by Mar Castran. I was brought in to create hand-lettered place cards for the evening, writing the names of each guest by hand before they arrived at the table.

I have followed Mar Castran's work for a long time. Back when I was working in journalism, she was one of those rising designers everyone in the industry was watching. Seeing her name attached to Bvlgari, and then being part of an event built around her work, was one of those full-circle moments that quietly means a lot.

Chateau Marmont is one of those Los Angeles spaces that carries its own energy. Everything about this evening was considered. The room, the guests, the aesthetic. Being invited into that as the calligrapher, writing the names of the people in that room by hand, felt like exactly the kind of work this is all about.

Cultured Magazine has been doing some of the most interesting editorial work in Los Angeles right now, and a collaboration with a house like Bvlgari at a venue like Chateau Marmont is the kind of event that reminds you why this city is unlike anywhere else.
