Chanel's Beverly Hills boutique on site calligraphy

This past Valentine's Day, I had the pleasure of bringing classic Copperplate calligraphy to Chanel's Beverly Hills boutique for an on-site event that turned out to be one of my favorite of the year.

Guests were invited to write personal letters and sweet messages to someone they love, and instead of leaving with just their own handwriting, I sat with each of them to transform their words into something they could actually be proud to give. So many people came in saying they had been wanting to write a letter for a while but kept putting it off, maybe because their handwriting felt too casual, or because they wanted the moment to feel more special. Watching their faces when they saw their own words rendered in elegant Copperplate script, knowing it was still entirely their message, just elevated, was honestly the best part of the day.

There is something different about handing someone a gift that includes a handwritten letter versus one with a beautifully lettered one. The sentiment is the same, but the presentation suddenly feels like it belongs in a much higher tier. For a luxury brand like Chanel, that detail matters. It turns a personal gesture into a complete experience, something guests remember well after Valentine's Day has passed.

This is exactly the kind of work I love most. It is not just calligraphy for the sake of pretty handwriting. It is about helping people say what they already wanted to say, just in a way that matches how much they care.

I'm grateful to continue working with luxury brands like Chanel on activations that bring this kind of personal touch to their guests, and I'm looking forward to sharing more from this past season.
